How to Switch Between Apps on iPhone X
iPhone X swaps the Home button for an on-screen Home bar. You interact with this software Home bar using gestures. This means there’s a new way to go back to the Home screen and for accessing the App Switcher. It all starts with an upward swipe on the Home bar. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen (from the Home bar).
Step 2: Keep swiping up till you hit the middle of the screen. You should see the animation taking you back to the Home screen.
Step 3: Release your finger and you’ll end up on the Home screen.
Once you’re used to it, you’ll be able to perform this action quickly. Ultimately, it comes down to flicking up from the Home bar.
